Dr. Ines Mergel is full professor of public administration at the University of Konstanz in Germany and an elected fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA). Prior to her current post, she was an Associate Professor at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs and a postdoctoral fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Her research focuses on digital innovations in the public sector, especially new organizational practices and adaptability to new technologies. Her current research focuses on digital service teams and government and digital academies to understand the need for new competencies in government.
