Throughout the year, ACT-IAC is helping Arlington National Cemetery to Remember and Honor our veterans by helping gather sponsors to fund the Remembrance wreaths laid on the graves of our country's fallen heroes every December.

Please help us honor and remember as many fallen heroes as possible by sponsoring wreaths through the ACT-IAC Gives Back group.

"As a former educator, I missed the constant influx of hands-on volunteer opportunities and began to wonder if that sense of service was missing from the GovCon world. That is, until I saw the opportunity to volunteer at AFAC through ACT-IAC Gives Back.

Whether you arrived with friends, coworkers, or didn’t know a single soul, Christina’s leadership created an inclusive and welcoming environment from the start. She ensured everyone felt comfortable, even making thoughtful accommodations for volunteers with physical limitations.

What struck me most was how natural the connections felt. There was no pressure to network or exchange business cards — we got to know each other as people first. We laughed, shared stories, and found common ground in our shared desire to give back. The most meaningful part of the day wasn’t just the impact we made—it was that connection. "Volunteering at Martha’s Table was truly a rewarding experience. I love helping others. It gives me joy knowing that my efforts contributed to alleviating food insecurity and supporting the community. Seeing the smiles and expressed gratitude by those receiving assistance made it truly fulfilling. Also, the sense of connection with the other volunteers was great. We all shared the same mindset-- to serve and value each participant who came through the line.  While working the line, I was reminded of one of my employer’s value’s that also aligns with my personal value, “Human at the Core.” Even though our life journeys are unique, t’s about recognizing our common humanity and interconnectedness at the core.  I’m looking forward to the next volunteer opportunity."

"I participated in the honor flight welcoming at DCA on October 21st. I’ve seen honor flights arrive at DCA in the past when I’ve been on work travel and always thought it would be great if the veterans received a hero’s welcome. The invite that came from ACT-IAC Gives Back was the catalyst that energized me to do something I’ve wanted to do for a long time. My two young sons participated as well. The honor flight event gave us an opportunity to talk about what it means to be a veteran and how lucky we are to live in the greatest country on earth. We’ll definitely participate again!"
