Abstract
Collaboration is a word we hear a lot about in the context of innovative technological
advancements that help agencies accomplish their mission. The shutdown of many in-person
activities and facilities during the pandemic may lead one to assume that collaborations have
been put on hold. Fortunately, advances in technology and rapid adoption by agencies have
helped to overcome many of the pandemic-posed location challenges. Looking at a few examples
of how these challenges not only were overcome but actually resulted in major advances may
stimulate more creative thinking among agencies looking to take advantage of new ways to work
remotely in strong partnerships. One such innovation is the HoloLens, a hands-free, mixed
reality headset that provides a high-resolution display of surroundings. Let’s take a closer look at
two examples of how HoloLens helped agencies develop and grow meaningful collaborations
that resulted in advancing science and education and improving service delivery to the public...
