The Expansion of CxO-Level Positions in Government-Innovation or Chaos? | 142.59 KB |
Abstract
There’s been a recent surge of agency announcements about adding or realigning a variety of CxO positions. For example, the National Archives and Records Administration, the Federal Reserve, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Department of Transportation established new roles for Chief Innovation Officer. The Transportation Security Administration (TSA) just announced the creation of Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and Chief Data Officer (CDO) positions, and the Defense Logistics Agency (DLA) combined the roles of Chief Analytics and Data Officer. DoD has hired a Chief Talent Officer to help steer the department’s anticipated “total force’” talent acquisition and management strategy.
