CVP's FranklinTM is a highly reliable, Generative AI-powered platform that helps government securely, reliably, and accurately accelerate tasks like developing software and system security plans. Unlike generic AI solutions like ChatGPT, Franklin is tuned to use only verified information to formulate answers and allows subject matter experts to update that information in real-time as policies, laws, or circumstances change. Competing tools often just answer questions using the unstructured data they were trained on or searching the Internet, meaning users have little control over the sources and n- ability to issue corrections going forward.
To-Be
Software development.
In an experiment with the team from a large, long-running Federal project, developers were given the same tw- tasks and instructed to complete one with AI and one without. The results were impressive: on average, the AI-assisted method completed the task in just 16% of the time it took using the traditional approach, resulting in an 84% increase in productivity. Specifically:
- Human-only coding - 43 minutes average
- AI-assisted coding - 7 minutes average (including the time spent reviewing code and approving changes)
Cybersecurity.
Recent use at tw- federal agencies has demonstrated remarkable results, with 50%+ increase in productivity across various security compliance functions:
- Information System Security Officers (ISSOs) now generate NIST 800-53 Rev 5 compliant implementation statements in minutes. Conversely, Security control assessors (SCAs) review System Security Plans (SSPs) can validate implementation statement compliance with unprecedented efficiency, creating actionable remediation plans for the IT teams.
- Writing and updating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for each security control family significantly reducing technical writer workload requirements.
- Based on the latest zero-day vulnerabilities and AI scans of their unique applications, penetration testers use Franklin to rapidly develop customized diagnostic applications all within their secure cloud enclaves.
Stakeholders
We are piloting Franklin with teams from four Federal agencies but are not at liberty to disclose the names at this time.
