AI Audit Resolution Assistant (AIARA)
Using robotic process automation (UiPath) and generative artificial intelligence (Microsoft Open AI and Python), HRSA developed a tool t- accelerate the Single audit resolution process for the Provider Relief Fund. The Provider Relief Fund was used t- disperse COVID-19 dollars t- health care providers and hospitals across the country t- ensure that our healthcare system did not suffer a financial collapse. Due t- the emergency nature of the dispersement of funds, the audits have been conducted retroactively t- ensure there is n- fraud, waste, or abuse of these resources. UiPath process retrieves audit docs from internal/external sources, updates assignment and status trackers, and leverages Azure OpenAI and Azure AI Search t- draft an audit summary with linked citations t- source documents. The system was developed in collaboration with Office of Budget and Finance and Office of Federal Assistance and Acquisition Management.
