The ACT-IAC Talent COI invites all members - legacy and newbies! - to participate in a unique planning session for our upcoming FY26 program year. This fun and engaging workshop will teach you Human Centered Design while enabling you to contribute your analysis and ideas to the question: “What priority talent management challenge should the ACT-IAC Talent COI take on this year?” During the workshop, you will learn the basics of Human Centered Design by conducting a rapid design cycle with your fellow participants. You will use ethnographic methods to explore the most critical talent challenges facing the Federal government in the coming year, and generate innovative ideas for how the Talent COI can support the Federal government over the coming year. You will walk out knowing why Human Centered Design is such a powerful method for doing the work of government and industry - and you will get to connect with your peers across industry and government who have a passion for talent.
What to Expect:
- Expert guidance from Dr. Sydney Heimbrock, Industry Co-Chair of the ACT-IAC Talent COI, Chief Industry Advisor for Qualtrics and founder of the Innovation Lab at OPM
- Orientation to the framework, methods, and tools of Human-Centered Design (HCD)
- Hands-on training on the key tools across HCD’s three key phases: Listen, Understand and Act
- Real-world application to improve the talent experience in government through ACT-IAC
