About the Speakers
Brittney Chappell is a Sr. Procurement Analyst for NASA. In this role, she provides IT acquisition policy support for the NASA enterprise within the Senior Procurement Executive office. Previously, Ms. Chappell served as the Director, Office of Acquisition for the GSA, Technology Transformation Services (TTS), where she provided leadership and oversight of TTS’s procurement functions, policy, and initiatives. Ms. Chappell also served as the Acquisition Team Lead over the Department of Transportation, IT Acquisition Center of Excellence where she was responsible for standing up the division to support the agency's IT shared services initiative. Prior to DOT, Brittney was a Sr. Contracting Officer at GSA in the Federal Systems Integration Management Center (FEDSIM) division providing assisted acquisition services for major DOD IT requirements and also completed a detail assignment as a Contracting Officer for the Executive Office of the President. She is a graduate of the Digital IT Acquisition Professional Training Program, USDA’s Executive Leadership Program, and holds a MBA from George Mason University. Ms. Chappell has received numerous awards to include the DOT Administrators Award for Excellence and the Multiple Award Government and Industry award for Acquisition Excellence. Ms. Chappell lives in Washington, DC but she is a North Carolina girl at heart.
Shakira (Shak) McCants is the CEO of MacMore, a Woman Owned and HUBZone, Management and IT Consulting firm. She is a results-driven professional with nearly 20 years of experience in business development, project management, operations management, and strategic planning. She has a demonstrated track record of driving revenue growth and winning new projects through delivery excellence and identifying and transforming clients’ business needs into valued solutions. She was a member of the 2019 American Council for Technical and Industry Advisory Council (ACT-IAC) Voyagers program, and she also served as a Leadership Industry Vice Chair for the 2021 ACT-IAC Associates program. Prior to starting MacMore, Shak was the Executive Vice President of Corporate Development at Seventh Sense Consulting and also the Director of Civilian Business Development at E3 Federal Solutions. She holds a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of South Alabama.
