ACT-IAC Gives Back

ACT-IAC Gives Back is an initiative that was rejuvenated in 2022 as a way to channel the passion and energy of ACT-IAC's many volunteers into supporting activities that serve great causes. Throughout the year, ACT-IAC will identify charitable organizations in the Washington, DC region and organize volunteer events to support. Friday, March 22
Honor Flight DCA
12:30pm-1:30pm
50 veterans from Austin, TX will be arriving on a Southwest flight to DCA. They will be exploring our nation's capital for the weekend. Join us to greet them as they exit the terminal and thank them for their service to our country. Patriotic dress is encouraged as well as any welcome signs you wish to make. Potomac Conservancy
ACT-IAC is partnering with member company, ACI Solutions, to volunteer at the Potomac River Cleanup at Anacostia Park (DC) on April 20, 2024 from 9am to 11am.

2024 Greater Washington Region Heart Walk
Check-In begins at 8:30am. Walk begins at 10:00am
The National Mall - 10th Street NW (between Madison & Jefferson), DC
Be a Heart Walk Hero - Register Today! By participating in the Heart Walk, you're joining Heart Walk Heroes from across the nation raising funds for lifesaving science. This event has both a 1 mile and 3 mile route length option for attendees. You can join the ACT-IAC Gives Back team individually or you can recruit some of your colleagues/friends/family and build a team under ACT-IAC! Email Christina Binhack to discuss options.

Previous Highlights

February 23, 2024 - ACT-IAC staff and members served fresh, healthy produce and pantry staples to families in need at Martha's Table.

January 20, 2024 - ACT-IAC staff and members braved the snow and helped to pick up and clear out the expired wreaths across Arlington National Cemetery. 

December 16, 2023 - Members of gAp and other ACT-IAC volunteers laid wreaths at the Arlington National Cemetery as part of the Wreaths Across America event. 

October 29, 2023 - Attendees to Imagine Nation ELC 2023 decorated and built 100 gift bags for Caitlin's Smiles, a local nonprofit organization who donates these kits to children admitted to medical facilities in Pennsylvania and surrounding states. They have benefited 2.7 million children and are striving to reach more every day. 

October 29-31, 2023 - Attendees to Imagine Nation ELC 2023 donated 340 lbs of food to the Hershey Food Bank to help feed local families in need.

October 22, 2023 - The Associates 2023 cohort volunteered at DC Central Kitchen to help prepare hundreds of meals for local schools. 

October 21, 2023 - ACT-IAC staff and members volunteer with Honor Flight DCA to welcome 86 veterans from Indiana to Washington DC at the Ronald Reagan airport. 

July 28, 2023 - ACT-IAC staff and members volunteered with Honor Flight DCA to welcome 100 veterans from Wisconsin to Washington DC at the Ronald Reagan airport. 

May 20, 2023 - In partnership with the Potomac Conservancy, ACT-IAC members and staff spent a Saturday morning cleaning up trash at the Glenfield Local Park in Silver Spring, Maryland to help restore the environment. 

May 7, 2023 - Attendees to ACT-IAC's Emerging Technology and Innovation Conference put together 100 hygiene kits for the Salvation Army in Cambridge, Maryland. 

April 12, 2023 - Representatives from the 2023 Voyagers class and ACT-IAC staff prepped and cooked a delicious meal for families at the Ronald McDonald House in Falls Church, Virginia.
