Cloud Infrastructure Resiliency

The Resilient Cloud project under the new Resilient Infrastructure Community of Interest explores the impact of IT on the environment. Topics addressed includes resilient data centers, impact of Blockchain technologies. etc. This project set out to look at the energy usage of data centers and cloud hosting environments.

Ongoing projects:

• Strategic Site Selection for Data Centers
• Hosting meetings with thought leaders that have led the way in focusing on sustainability and efficiency.
• Future projects include looking at more sustainable coding techniques, as well as data management techniques that will reduce energy consumption in data centers.

Past project:

• Envisioning/drafting a Data/Cloud Center Scorecard intended to provide government acquisition and vendors a tool to help select resilient and sustainable data centers/cloud storage
