Gregory A. Garrett is the Chief Operating Officer (COO) and Chief Innovation Officer of Converged Security Solutions (CSS), headquartered in Reston, Virginia, a leading technology provider of digital transformation, information technology, eDiscovery, electronic security systems, and cybersecurity solutions for U.S. Federal Government agencies and Fortune 500 companies nationwide. He was selected by the American Council of Technology (ACT) Industry Advisory Council (IAC) as the Federal Information Technology (IT) Industry Contributor of the Year and was also recognized as “One of the Seven Most Influential Cybersecurity Leaders in the U.S.” by Executive Gov Magazine and recognized as “A Top 10 Most Dynamic IT and Cyber Leader in the U.S.” by Executive Biz Magazine. 

He has led the P&L of more than $40 Billion of information technology, artificial intelligence (AI), cloud, cybersecurity, software development, and professional services worldwide. He has served as the President and General Manager of three IT and cyber companies, and as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of two mid-sized IT and cyber companies. Plus, he has served as the Global CISO & Head of Global Cybersecurity for BDO International, CIO and CISO at Lucent Technologies, and as corporate Vice President of Cybersecurity for Peraton.

He is a best-selling author of 160+ published articles & technical whitepapers and 24 published business and technology books, including “Cybersecurity in the Digital Age”. He has taught contract management, program management, systems engineering, information technology, and cybersecurity to over 50,000 business professionals worldwide. He has served on the faculty of three prestigious universities, including: as a Professor at the Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT), adjunct professor at The George Washington University (GWU), and guest lecturer at Georgetown University. 

He currently serves on the George Mason University (GMU) Advisory Board for the Cybersecurity Resilience Center (CRC). He has served as an Expert Witness for more than 20 legal cases nationwide.  He has served as a dynamic public speaker for over 250 government and industry events worldwide. He served for 20+ years as a USAF Military Officer on both active duty and the reserves, earning 17 medals and badges for his distinguished military service.

He has earned a B.S. degree in chemistry and engineering physics from Miami University, a M.S. degree in systems engineering management, from the University of Southern California (USC), Master Certifications in Government contract management and project management from The George Washington University (GWU) and completed an Executive education program in advanced program management at Stanford University.
