Greg Wheeless

Greg Wheeless leads Truist’s Government Contractor Banking Group which provides an array of financing and banking services to large, mid-size, and small government contractors throughout the Greater Washington Region.  Mr. Wheeless has been involved for decades in providing growth-oriented financing to government contractors of all types and sizes across the U.S. to support their organic growth as well as their M&A activity. He is also actively involved with managing the team that advises clients on the delivery of the whole bank including treasury, card, insurance, international, investment banking, and risk management services.   

Mr. Wheeless has enjoyed several decades in commercial and GovCon banking in the Washington D.C. area.  Prior to Truist, he led Wells Fargo’s Government Contractor Group.  Before that, he was with Bank of America’s Government Contractor Group.    

Greg Wheeless has been actively involved in various GovCon and regional organizations including the Professional Services Council, the Northern Virginia Chamber’s GovCon Council, and the board of NVTC.  He is also a member of the Association for Corporate Growth, and in 2009, Mr. Wheeless was honored to be awarded the Capital Provider of the Year Award from ACG’s National Capital Chapter.  

Mr. Wheeless holds a MBA with a concentration in finance from George Washington University in Washington, DC and a bachelor of business administration degree from Baylor University in Waco, Texas.
