Federal Innovation Council Membership Application

The Federal Innovation Council is a group of strategically positioned career leaders from multiple functions and components across the Federal government who generate actionable insights on barriers, enablers, and innovative solutions to problems that face the American public.​

We welcome applications from government executives who lead innovation and/or transformation in their agencies.

A few things to note:

  • The applicant journey is available here.
  • Applications can be accepted anytime. However, FIC leaders will review applications twice a year.
  • Applications are reviewed based on an individual’s (1) leadership experience, (2) alignment of skills with innovation goals, (3) problem-solving and impact of project/s led, and (4) motivation and passion for Council’s mission.
  • If selected, applicants are responsible to obtaining agency approval to participate in FIC.
  • FIC member must attend at least 50% of the meetings and participate in at least one project.
  • The initial appointment is for one year. After which, the Council can grant annual renewals.
