Tony Scott

Mr. Anthony Scott is CEO for The TonyScottGroup, LLC.

Mr. Anthony Scott was appointed by President Barack Obama as the 3rd Federal Chief Information Officer (Federal CIO) for the U.S. Government, where he oversaw an $85 billion budget responsible for modernizing IT systems, infrastructure, and strategy across the federal government.  He created the response plan after the OPM cybersecurity hacking incident, including the Cybersecurity Sprint and Implementation Plan (CSIP), which improved the information systems security posture of the United States.  He provided CXO level public and private sector insight on matters such as digital transformation, cybersecurity, governance, open data and workforce diversity.

Prior to government service, he served as the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of VMware, Inc.  Previously, he was the Chief Information Officer and Corporate Vice President of Microsoft Corporation, leading Microsoft's 4,000-person global information technology organization that manages critical technology systems supporting Microsoft Corporation's worldwide sales, marketing and services efforts, as well as enterprise systems and applications for all corporate processes.

Mr. Scott was the Chief Information Officer and Senior Vice President of The Walt Disney Co., where he served as the First Chief Information Officer to manage companywide IT. During his time at Disney, he led a major transformation, which included improving the reliability and effectiveness of information systems, shifting focus more toward employee enablement, and upgrading core IT infrastructure including datacenter reliability.  Before joining Disney, he served as the Chief Technology Officer at General Motors Corp. and Vice President of Operations at Bristol-Meyers Squibb Co.

Mr. Scott has been a Director of the Board of NIC Inc., a Member of The Board of Advisors at Continuum Managed Services, and is a Senior Advisor to Squire Patton Boggs.  He was inducted into CIO magazine’s CIO Hall of Fame.  He has a bachelor of science in information systems management from the University of San Francisco and holds a juris doctorate with concentration in International Law and Diplomacy in from Santa Clara University.
