Tim Smith is President of OnPoint Consulting, Inc., spanning a 28-year career dedicated to leveraging technology to improve the way our government works. Tim has a proven track record of building organizations through strong leadership and effective communication and is an advocate for the federal contracting industry.
Tim is very committed to, and has demonstrated leadership within, ACT-IAC. Tim is a current member of the IAC Executive Committee, is a five-year member of the Innovators Circle within the Institute for Innovation and a regular volunteer in planning for ACT-IAC events and conferences. In 2019 Tim served as Industry Vice Chair for ELC and in 2020 is the Industry Chair. In 2019 Tim was a recipient of the ACT-IAC Industry President and Chairman Award.
Prior to becoming President of OnPoint, Tim was part of the Leadership Team that positioned OnPoint for sale to Sapient in 2014. OnPoint was then re-established, under Tim’s leadership, to continue support for our national security programs. Tim has held leadership roles across the federal contracting industry including as Vice President of ManTech and Vice President at CGS. Tim began his career with American Management Systems (AMS) where he was a Principal Manager.
Tim attended Shippensburg and Georgetown Universities and continues to stay involved with both institutions including as a member of the Board of Directors for the Shippensburg University Foundation, President of the Alumni Association and Young Alumni of the Year in 2007.
Tim and his wife Jill live in Loudoun County on the Blue Ridge Mountains where they often enjoy a quiet weekend at one of the local Virginia wineries. In their never-ending battle against old age, Tim & Jill both stay active by competing in triathlons. In 2004 Tim and Jill both finished the Iron Man USA competition.
