Simon Szykman

Simon Szykman serves as the SVP for Client Growth at Maximus, leading growth (sales and business development, capture, and proposals) and enabling the go-to-market strategy for the company’s Federal Services Segment. Prior to joining Maximus, Simon was a Partner at Attain and served as the Chief Technology Officer, where he led the development of technology strategy, oversaw the delivery of innovative digital transformation solutions to clients, provided thought leadership in the industry, and fostered strategic collaborations with the company’s portfolio of alliance partners.

Simon brings more than 20 years of experience in various fields related to government information technology. His diverse leadership experience includes management of IT operations, management and execution of innovation and R&D programs, and technology policy. His previous roles include serving as the Chief Information Officer (CIO) of the U.S. Department of Commerce, CIO of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), two stints at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy, and the first Director of Cyber Security R&D at the Department of Homeland Security.

Simon holds a Ph.D. and Master of Science degrees from Carnegie Mellon University, a Master of Engineering Management degree from the George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Rochester.
