Michael Shields is the Chief Solutions Architect for Pyramid Systems, a leading provider of innovative IT solutions and consulting services for the federal government. In his role, he is responsible for ensuring Pyramid delivers best-in-class technology solutions to clients. Michael brings deep understanding of technologies, architectures, security, software engineering, and IT service to our client projects. Michael works with senior leaders, program managers, and technology leads across the organization to strategize forward-leaning solutions for capture efforts and business development opportunities. Additionally, Michael participates in Pyramid thought leadership activities such as writing blogs and white papers and speaks at technology industry events.
Michael has nearly 20 years of experience architecting and implementing a broad range of modern and complex enterprise systems for both commercial and public sector organizations. Prior to Pyramid Systems, Michael was a Senior IT Specialist in IBM’s Global Services Division and a Senior Software Engineer at Jadian. He is an expert in Agile and DevSecOps approaches, cloud and low-code platforms, data analytics, and cybersecurity. He is a certified ScrumMaster and holds a GSSP from the SANS Institute.
