John Harris

John has been the leader for Verizon of the Federal Civilian business since November of 2018 and in total has over 15 years of experience with Verizon. In his current role, he is responsible for sales and customer satisfaction within the public sector channel. John’s primary goal is the growth, retention and customer experience for all of Verizon’s Civilian public sector business.  Bringing with him a deep respect and passion for serving the public sector segment, John is laser focused on the importance our Public Sector Customers, their mission and how Verizon can help support that mission.  John is also very engaged and excited about delivering new technologies to customers and communities in order to help drive efficiency, opportunities and new experiences to people in all walks of life.

John is also responsible for the support and development of the direct sales and support teams within the Federal space.  John is also very passionate about creating culture within his team as well as building an environment in which the team understands goals as well as the importance of their role in reaching new levels of performance. 

Prior to joining Verizon in 2005 John spent 9 years with Qwest Communications in Salt Lake City where he was born and raised.  During his time with Verizon he has held several leadership roles in retail as well as business sales. He has also lived in Northern California, Phoenix and Dallas prior to his move to the Baltimore/Washington region.

John attended the University of Utah with a focus on Business Administration and is currently completing his BS degree from Arizona State University.
