Bridging the Gap in Federal Succession Planning Exec Summary-HC SIG 06-2012.pdf | 196.16 KB |
Abstract
Succession planning in Federal Agencies is both mandated and a generally-acknowledged “good thing”. At the request of several agency human capital and information technology leaders, the ACT-IAC Human Capital SIG conducted a study exploring Federal succession planning programs from both the perspectives of the human capital community and the IT operations managers’ community. We discovered that while there are a number of effective succession planning programs in place, there is a significant gap between the perceptions of the effectiveness of those programs between most of the human capital practitioners and the information technology (IT) operational managers that we contacted.
