What is Blockchain and why should I be interested?
Blockchain is a digital ledger technology that maintains a continuously growing list of records, called blocks, in a distributed database. Blockchains are secure, transparent, and incorruptible with no single point of failure or control. This makes blockchains potentially suitable for a wide variety of trusted uses like issuing licenses and permits, managing records and identities, and processing transactions. Blockchain has the potential to radically transform a multitude of processes and programs.
ACT-IAC is stepping up to be a resource and central point of information for government and industry by providing forums, working groups and white papers, a knowledge bank of articles and data, and an environment to share and grow Blockchain where and when needed. Working with the Emerging Technology Community of Interest (COI), the Institute for Innovation, and the strategy planning group of government and industry, ACT-IAC is looking to be the “go-to” association on Blockchain.
Articles and videos on Blockchain will be updated as received and are referenced below. If you would like to get involved more actively with our committees and groups and are not a member, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to hear about the benefits and value of membership.
