Grant S. Bromhal
Senior Fellow for Geologic and Environmental Systems
Grant S. Bromhal is the Senior Fellow for Geological and Environmental Systems at the National Energy Technology Laboratory. He is Technical Director of the Science-informed Machine learning to Accelerate Real Time decision making for the subsurface (SMART) Initiative. For over 20 years, he has led and performed research modeling and assessing dynamic subsurface systems. Dr. Bromhal received his PhD in Environmental Engineering from CMU and his BS/BA in Civil Engineering and Math from WVU. He received a 2017 R&D100 award, the 2011 USDOE Secretary’s Achievement Honor Award, and the 2010 USGS Director’s Award for Exemplary Service to the Nation.
