Technology and the Federal Workforce: How Treasury Innovation Centers Create Symbiosis Between People and Technology to Drive Digital Transformation
The Government’s increasing adoption of emerging technologies like Robotic Process Automation (RPA), artificial intelligence, and Blockchain will undoubtedly have a significant impact on the federal workforce. However, the key to the successful adoption of these technologies relies on that same workforce to create the proper environment for adoption and innovation. The Department of Treasury has several innovation offices that have created cultures of innovation and have been leading the charge for technology transformation within Government.
The IRS’ Office of the Chief Procurement Officer (OCPO) has been a leader in acquisition innovation, developing creative procurement solutions for acquiring technology. Beyond changing how the IRS purchases technology, the OCPO has imbedded RPA, advanced data analytics, and customer-experience focus into its own operations to enhance the efficacy of IRS procurements and ease the adoption of innovations across the IRS.
The Bureau of Fiscal Service’s Office of Financial Innovation & Transformation (FIT) identifies and helps to carry out innovative solutions so that government agencies can become more efficient and transparent in federal financial management. FIT has been a champion for exploring the applicability of technologies like RPA and Blockchain in Government and partners with other federal agencies to find new ways to solve the government’s needs for better financial management.
Join us on August 26th at 10:00am, as we hear from leaders from these two Treasury organizations to discuss how emerging technologies will impact the federal workforce in the coming years and strategies for creating innovative cultures within federal teams.
