About the Speaker
Alex Cohen is the Director for Emerging Technologies in the Office of Government-wide Policy. Prior to this, he ran the innovation center for the U.S. Census Bureau where he oversaw more than 1000 IT projects and saved over $100M for the Bureau.
Before moving into project and program management, he was a software engineer. He has led projects for National Academies, Department of Energy (DOE) and the Federation of American Scientists.
In addition to his technical background he has led digital communication offices in DOE and Census.
He has a BS in Computer Science from UMASS Amherst and a Masters in Public Policy from George Mason.
Alex lives in DC with his wife and his son.
