More Quantum Computing at ACT-IAC Emerging Technology COI Virtual Meeting
Featured Topic: Quantum Computing and It's Near Term Relevance
Join the Emerging Technology COI July virtual meeting to learn more about Quantum Computing - what it is, what is available today, what is near future, and what is beyond the next few years.
Lily Chen, Cryptographic Technology Group Manager, Computer Security Division, National Institute for Standards Technology (NIST), Department of Commerce
Gabe Chang, Quantum Ambassador, U.S. Federal IBM
Gabe Chang will depict the mechanics behind superconducting circuits, the physics’ concepts and principles of quantum interaction, applicability to difficult-to-solve technical challenges, and will be followed by a demonstration that will consist of simulation as well as running algorithms upon an actual quantum machine over the cloud. This radically new kind of computing holds open the possibility of solving some problems that are now and perhaps always will be intractable for “classical” computers. Gabe will be using Qiskit for the demonstration portion. Qiskit is an open source quantum computing framework that enables the community to experiment with algorithms and quantum computing for themselves.
