Abstract
During the summer of 2020, the Executive Committees of ACT and IAC, joined by members of the ACT-IAC professional staff, gathered together to: (1) identify key topics and issues that government will need to address in the years ahead, and (2) then develop a set of top goals for ACT-IAC to pursue for the next three years—2021-2023. This work began with a conversation about our purpose and value proposition, recognized the strengths that have sustained us for over 40 years and the new world that we will face in the years ahead. From there, the group reviewed and revised its list of the top topics and issues that should guide the project plans of ACT-IAC’s various groups, to include Communities of Interest (COIs), Institute for Innovation, Federal Insight Exchanges (FIEs), special projects, etc. Next, the ACT and IAC Executive Committees conducted a series of brainstorming sessions that led to the development of a set of goals for the next three years, focusing on five major areas of emphasis:
- Goal 1: Thriving in a Virtual World
- Goal 2: Expanding our Reach Nationally
- Goal 3: Engaging a Growing, Diverse and Inclusive Set of People
- Goal 4: Continuing to Enhance and Expand our Professional Development Programs
- Goal 5: Maintaining ACT-IAC as a World-Class Association
