Transforming Government Human Capital – 3 Models for Departmental Shared Services

Surging workforces in response to natural disasters.  Finding IT/cyber experts to defend against foreign and domestic hackers.  Reorganizing and right-sizing agency workforces.  Recruiting new staff, and motivating and retaining existing personnel.  Who and how can we accomplish all this at once?

This interactive session featured three speakers sharing ways departments and agencies are successfully meeting these challenges.  Through the implantation of several flavors of shared services, along with other techniques are enabling their organizations to remain mission focused and accomplish core and surge work.  The speakers shared their insights and best practices on shared services and other mechanisms to staff agency workforces. The audience of IT, program, and workforce leaders, discussed with the presenters solutions that are working today.
