The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) has an enterprise mission to protect, connect, and perform. These simple words encapsulate a complex operation with increasing importance to the DHS mission to safeguard citizens. As Dr. John Zangardi nears his one-year anniversary at the DHS Management Directorate, he will share the OCIO organization’s current progress and his vision for the future. Delivering world class IT that enhances and supports the DHS mission necessitates new thinking. Several opportunities are on the horizon, including: network modernization leveraging EIS, cloud and data center optimization, and SOC optimization.
