The Federal Insights Exchange is pleased to have Michael (Mike) W. Derrios, Senior Procurement Executive with the Department of State, as our guest speaker. Mr. Derrios will share his bold vision of the future of procurements at the Department to drive successful mission outcomes.
The State Department has recently merged the policy and operations business lines for their ~$8B portfolio of domestic programs under the Office of Procurement Executive (OPE), providing unparalleled synergies and growth opportunities for the Department. With Mr. Derrios at the helm of OPE, the future of the State Department procurement will see an increase in governance and oversight, transparency into requirements development, and rigor in procurement planning, while leveraging process innovation and the use of cognitive tools.
Michael (Mike) W. Derrios was named Senior Procurement Executive of the Bureau of Administration on December 3, 2020. Mr. Derrios brings over 25 years of procurement planning, policy, and program management experience to the Department. As Procurement Executive, Mr. Derrios provides Department-wide strategic vision and leadership over the full range of acquisitions and federal assistance management services. He serves as the principal business advisor and senior-level subject matter expert on acquisitions and federal assistance across the Department.
